About the Book
In this story, the author Rich Sherman’s childhood years merge with his adolescence as he finds himself in adventures with his surfing tribe to the beaches of Southern California, Mexico, and Hawaii. Hawaii is a link that connects Rich to Panama. The reader will be inspired as they travel with the author through life’s twists and turns of his college years from living in his 1963 VW bus, to living in a yoga ashram, then to the cold garage of his brother’s house. A life-changing three-night incarceration in the Los Angeles County jail begins a turning point. Life begins to change as he finds himself in university student housing. A simple gift of a writing journal becomes a portal to a new evolving self in search of the promised New Age of Aquarius.

What Readers Say
How many of us have left home to pursue an adventure in life better than the "doldrums" of our youth. Page after page made way to a connection with the author and my own youthful life of escapades. I thought the memoir was well written in a "can't put it down" griping tale that made me smile or chuckle most of the time. Family can make or break us.....but in the end, all the good, bad and in between is necessary for our growth. Have fun with this book...I did.

“You Can't Go Home Again: A Journey of Perseverance, Humor, and Heart” is good easy reading. I read it in one sitting compelled by my curiosity and because the story kept on moving forward. I especially enjoyed the family history and the author’s determination to not lose focus and to persevere through life’s never-ending challenges.
A book written to take in the adolescent years and beyond. I was able to put myself in the authors shoes and remember my own past through his past. Well done Dr. Sherman!!
